Most of the time when
you see me at the computer. I'll be surfing the net looking
at software. My favorite software hot spot is downloads.com.
See, I'm a computer geek at heart and love to beta test software.
I also love anything and everything to do with computers. If
I'm not checking out software. I'm probably either checking
my email or chatting with my friends. You might also see my
sister and my nephews and niece in the background. But mostly
the web cam will be on me.
If you wondering what's
up with my hair. I'm locing it with two strand twists. So now
you don't have to go there. I started locing on September 23,
2002. I would have been on my second month by now. But
I caught a really bad case of head lice this past August(2002).
And I ended up having to un twist my hair. Please don't ask
me how I caught head lice. Cause nobody else in the house had
lice or was itching and scratching like I was. It was as if
the lice just appeared out of nowhere. I was really hurt by
it and I also felt really ashamed. Can you believe that my sister
had the nerve to say that I got lice from twisting my hair?
And then she told me that if I got lice again then I need to
stay away from that Jamaican sh-t.. LOL LOL LOL!
So why dreadlocs? I choose to loc because I was
tired of maintaining my hair. I got tired of relaxers, curling
irons, blow dryers, deciding a style, cutting my hair, letting
my hair grow, dishing out money for a hair dresser, doing my
hair myself, blah, blah, blah. I even got to the point that
I didn't know what to do with my hair anymore. I just wanted
to shave it all off. I never considered locs till a friend of
mine brought it up. I didn't even have a clue on how to loc
my hair until I came across this really wonderful DREADLOCK
discussion group at YAHOO! I had looked at other websites to
get information but this discussion group is by and for blacks.
BIG DIFFERENCE! LOTS OF GREAT ADVICE from beautiful people who
have been there. Anyway. Locing my hair, is my way of saying
that I no longer care about what society has to say. I'm tired
of forcing my hair to look like the masses. When I can instead
just let my hair do what it does best: GET NAPPY AND LOC UP!
